三陸鉄道によると、現在の北リアス線の車両12両のうち９両が本県製で、残り３両も新潟トランシスが設計や部品提供に関わっている。金野さんは「ロケで使った新潟製の車両は開業時から大切に使っている。７月から海女の実演も始まるので、ロケ地巡りに来て」とＰＲする。
新潟トランシスでもあまちゃんは注目の的だ。同社の食堂では昼休みにドラマを映しており、「うちの車両が出た」と話題に上ることも多いという。同社新潟事 業所センター長の保苅清文さん（57）は「放送を通じて、多くの人にうちの車両に乗ってもらえたらうれしい」と期待する。
